28 killed near Gaza aid center by Israeli army: Palestinian media

At least 28 Palestinians were killed on Wednesday by the Israeli army near an aid distribution center in the central Gaza Strip, the Palestinian official news agency WAFA reported.

The attack also injured dozens of others, WAFA said.

Seperately, two people were killed on Wednesday in an Israeli drone strike on the New Camp area north of Nuseirat, the central Gaza Strip, according to sources in Al Awda Hospital.

In the south, four people were killed in an Israeli airstrike that hit a tent sheltering displaced persons in northwest of Khan Younis, medical teams in the southern city's Nasser Hospital said.

The Israeli side has not commented on these incidents.

S. Korea halts loudspeaker broadcasts in border area with DPRK

South Korea halted broadcasting propaganda through loudspeakers in the border area with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Seoul's defense ministry said Wednesday.

The ministry said in a statement that this was a measure to fulfill President Lee Jae-myung's pledge to restore trust in inter-Korean relations and peace on the Korean Peninsula.

The anti-DPRK loudspeaker broadcasts were suspended from Wednesday afternoon, according to media outlets.

Russian drone strikes on Ukraine's Kharkiv kill 3, injure 60

At least three people were killed and 60 others injured in Russian drone strikes on Ukraine's second-largest city Kharkiv early Wednesday, Kharkiv regional governor Oleg Synegubov said.

Nine children, aged between 2 and 15 years old, were among those injured, Synegubov said on Telegram.

He further said the attacks sparked fires in the Slobidskyi and Osnovianskyi districts and damaged residential high-rise buildings, private homes and public transportation infrastructure.

Chinese vice premier urges U.S. to resolve trade disputes with China through dialogue, cooperation

The United States should resolve trade disputes with China through equal dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng has said.

Over 30 mayors call for stop to ICE raids in Southern California as crackdown escalates

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass on Wednesday stood alongside more than 30 Southern California mayors to call for an end to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids across the region as armed federal forces expanded crackdown against immigration beyond downtown Los Angeles into multiple counties.

Bass said during a press conference that everything was peaceful in the city of Los Angeles and other cities in the region a week ago but the enforcement operations conducted by ICE and other federal agencies caused a huge unrest since then.

EU, Spain, UK, Gibraltar reach deal on future border-free agreement

Senior officials from the European Union (EU), Spain and the United Kingdom (UK), along with Gibraltar representatives, reached an agreement in Brussels on Wednesday on the core aspects of a future EU-UK treaty concerning Gibraltar, aimed at removing border barriers and promoting regional prosperity.

"The future Agreement is without prejudice to the respective legal positions of Spain and the United Kingdom with regard to sovereignty and jurisdiction," said a joint statement.

The goal of the future agreement is to secure the prosperity of the region by removing all physical barriers, checks and controls on persons and goods circulating between Spain and Gibraltar, according to the statement.
