Jacob Misiorowski struck out 11 over six scoreless innings, pacing the Milwaukee Brewers to a 6-0 victory over the visiting New York Yankees on Friday in the opener of a three-game series.

The hard-throwing Misiorowski (3-2) allowed just two singles and walked two in a dominant 95-pitch outing. Each of his 10 pitches in the first inning topped 102 mph. In his previous start, the 24-year-old right-hander pitched 5 1/3 hitless innings before exiting with a hamstring cramp.

Milwaukee rookie Shane Drohan allowed one hit over the final three scoreless innings for his first major league save. Brandon Lockridge had two hits and two RBIs before he was taken off the field on a cart in the fourth inning with a deep cut on his right knee.

Jose Caballero produced two of the three hits for the Yankees, who had won six of their previous seven games. The Brewers scored four runs in the second inning, when their first five hitters reached against Max Fried (4-2).

Cubs 7, Rangers 1

Seiya Suzuki belted a two-run homer and Michael Busch added a three-run double, fueling Chicago past Texas in Arlington, Texas, for its 10th consecutive win.

Ian Happ had an RBI single in the first inning to extend his on-base streak to 29 games for the Cubs. Chicago starter Ben Brown tossed four no-hit innings, and Javier Assad (3-1) yielded one hit over 3 2/3 scoreless innings.

The Rangers mustered just two hits en route to their eighth loss in 11 games. Kumar Rocker (1-4) permitted three runs on four hits in 3 2/3 innings.

Dodgers 3, Braves 1

Shohei Ohtani hit a go-ahead single in the fifth inning and Freddie Freeman socked a home run against his former team in the sixth as Los Angeles rallied past visiting Atlanta.

The homer off Braves ace Chris Sale was Freeman's first in 26 games. The Dodgers won the opener of a seven-game homestand following a 3-3 road trip. Los Angeles starter Emmet Sheehan gave up one run on six hits over 4 2/3 innings.

Austin Riley had an RBI single for Atlanta, which fell to 4-3 on a nine-game road trip. Sale (6-2) gave up three runs, two earned, on five hits over seven innings, allowing more than one run in an outing for just the second time in eight starts this year.

Astros 10, Reds 0

Zach Cole hit a three-run homer during a five-run ninth inning and visiting Houston beat Cincinnati, sending the Reds to their eighth straight defeat.

Zach Dezenzo, Yordan Alvarez and Christian Vazquez also went deep for the Astros, who recorded their third shutout of the season. Mike Burrows (2-4) allowed three hits over a career-high seven innings. He retired the last 11 batters he faced.

The Reds were outhit 13-5 while being blanked for the fourth time this season. Cincinnati has lost nine of its last 10.

Blue Jays 2, Angels 0

Dylan Cease struck out 10 in seven innings as Toronto blanked visiting Los Angeles.

Cease (3-1) allowed five hits and no walks for his second win of the season over the Angels. Louis Varland pitched the ninth inning to earn his fifth save of the season and end the Blue Jays' four-game losing streak.

Reid Detmers (1-3) walked six and permitted two runs in 3 2/3 innings as the Angels had a two-game winning streak end. Both runs scored in the third inning, on a single from Kazuma Okamoto and a sacrifice fly from Ernie Clement.

Mariners 12, White Sox 8

Luke Raley hit a grand slam and three-run homer and Julio Rodriguez and Josh Naylor also went deep to power visiting Seattle past Chicago.

Raley collected a career-high seven RBIs while Naylor went 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Emerson Hancock (3-1) spaced five runs and five hits over six innings as the Mariners won for the third time in four games.

White Sox rookie Munetaka Murakami set a major league record by homering in his eighth successive series opener. He has 15 on the season, tied for the major league lead. Colson Montgomery hit a three-run double, but Chicago took its third loss in a row.

Cardinals 6, Padres 0

Michael McGreevy, Gordon Graceffo and Ryne Stanek combined on a one-hit shutout for St. Louis, which scored all of its runs in the fifth inning at San Diego.

McGreevy (3-2) gave up just a leadoff single to Jackson Merrill in the fourth while firing six innings. JJ Wetherholt had a two-run single that wound up scoring four runs due to an error, and Ivan Herrera collected four hits.

Padres starter Griffin Canning (0-1) surrendered seven hits and six runs -- all in the fifth inning -- during his 4 1/3-inning stint. St. Louis has won nine of its past 11 games, while San Diego took its seventh loss in 10 games.

Rockies 9, Phillies 7 (11 innings)

Troy Johnston's pinch-hit RBI double in the 11th inning led visiting Colorado to a series-opening win over Philadelphia.

Johnston brought home automatic runner Willi Castro with his go-ahead knock off Brad Keller (1-1) and later scored on a Jake McCarthy RBI single. In the bottom of the inning, Juan Mejia secured his second save.

Victor Vodnik (1-2) worked two shutout innings for the Rockies, who won despite blowing an early 6-0 lead. Trailing 7-2 in the eighth, the Phillies tagged the Colorado bullpen for five runs to tie the game. After Brandon Marsh's RBI single and Bryson Stott's two-run double, Justin Crawford hit his first career homer, a two-run shot.

Mets 3, Diamondbacks 1 (10 innings)

Mark Vientos and Carson Benge hit RBI doubles in the 10th inning as New York won for the fourth time in five games, defeating Arizona in Phoenix.

Mets reliever Devin Williams (2-1) had an eight-pitch ninth inning, and Tobias Myers struck out two in a 1-2-3 10th for his first career save.

Vientos and Arizona's Nolan Arenado accounted for all the early scoring with leadoff homers in the second inning. Reliever Kevin Ginkel (1-2) got just one out in the 10th as the Diamondbacks took their seventh loss in eight games.

Athletics 4, Orioles 3

Nick Kurtz roped a tiebreaking two-run triple in the fifth inning and the Athletics held on to beat host Baltimore.

Six Athletics pitchers combined for a four-hitter while Jacob Wilson joined Kurtz with two hits. The Athletics have won two games in a row. Jacob Lopez worked 5 1/3 innings, with two of the three hits allowed going for home runs.

Pete Alonso and Adley Rutschman homered for the Orioles, who lost for the seventh time in their past nine contests. Kyle Bradish (1-5) struck out 10 batters in seven innings but gave up three runs on five hits.

Red Sox 2, Rays 0

A pair of solo home runs stood up as Connelly Early pitched a career-high seven shutout innings, leading Boston to a win over visiting Tampa Bay.

Wilyer Abreu's two-out blast in the third was all that Boston needed, but Ceddanne Rafaela (2-for-4) added a homer in the next inning. Early (3-2) fanned eight while allowing just four hits. Aroldis Chapman got his eighth save, preserving Boston's major-league-leading sixth shutout of the season.

Nick Fortes (2-for-3) had two of the four hits for Tampa Bay, which was blanked for the first time this season and had a seven-game winning streak snapped.

Guardians 6, Twins 4

Australian rookie Travis Bazzana hit his first major league homer, a two-run shot as part of a four-run first inning, sending Cleveland on its way to a victory over visiting Minnesota.

Guardians starter Parker Messick (4-1) worked 5 2/3 innings, giving up one run on seven hits. Cade Smith earned a save for the third day in a row, picking up his 11th of the season.

Byron Buxton homered among his three hits and Austin Martin also collected three hits for the Twins, who have lost three straight. Connor Prielipp (1-1) permitted four runs, one earned, in five innings.

Royals 4, Tigers 3

Kyle Isbel's second RBI of the night came via a two-out single in the ninth, giving host Kansas City a walk-off victory over Detroit.

The Royals trailed 3-1 before they tied the game with three hits on the first five pitches of the eighth inning. Kansas City reliever Lucas Erceg (3-1) pitched a scoreless top of the ninth.

Riley Greene had three hits and an RBI for the Tigers, who have lost four in a row. Kyle Finnegan squandered the lead in the eighth before Brant Hurter (4-1) was beaten in the ninth.

Nationals 3, Marlins 2

Jacob Young hit a two-run homer, Foster Griffin pitched seven strong innings and Washington beat host Miami.

Curtis Mead had a double and two walks for the Nationals, who have won three straight games. All five runs were scored in the first inning. Griffin (4-1) gave up two runs, one earned, and PJ Poulin recorded the last out for his first save.

Marlins starter Robby Snelling (0-1) gave up three runs on five hits over five innings in his major league debut. Xavier Edwards homered, and Otto Lopez notched his fifth three-hit game of the season.

Giants 5, Pirates 2

Robbie Ray threw six effective innings, Luis Arraez broke open a close game with a two-run single in the seventh and San Francisco topped visiting Pittsburgh.

Rafael Devers homered, singled and scored twice for the Giants, who had lost eight of their previous nine games. Ray (3-4) permitted one run and ended a personal three-game losing streak.

Marcell Ozuna went deep for the Pirates, who took just their second loss in seven games. Carmen Mlodzinski (2-3) allowed two runs on seven hits in six innings.
