SAN DIEGO, USA, 20th May, 2025 (WAM) -- The United Arab Emirates participated in the International Trademark Association's (INTA) Annual Meeting that convened from 17 to 21 May 2025 in San Diego, United States of America.
The meeting discussed the future of intellectual property amid the rapid pace of technological developments, focusing on the impact of modern technological solutions in reshaping the landscape of intellectual property rights protection. It also emphasised the need to develop legal and regulatory frameworks to keep pace with the continuous changes in the fields of innovation and creativity.
Dr. Abdulrahman Hassan Al Muaini, Assistant Undersecretary for Intellectual Property Rights Sector at the Ministry of Economy, affirmed in his speech during the meeting that the UAE adopts a strategic and proactive approach to developing intellectual property protection systems and procedures. This is achieved, he said, through the use of the latest technologies, aligning with the country's vision for digital transformation and reinforcing its global standing as a hub for innovation and knowledge.
He pointed out that the launch of the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 marked a turning point in the country's journey to become one of the leading nations in this field. The strategy aims to enhance performance, efficiency, and sustainability in line with the goals of the 'We the UAE 2031' vision'.
