LOS ANGELES -- Disney's animated film "Encanto" led ticket sales at the North American box office with an estimated 40.3-million-U.S.-dollar debut over the 5-day Thanksgiving weekend beginning Wednesday, according to studio figures collected by measurement firm Comscore.
Although "Encanto" has snared the biggest opening of the COVID-19 pandemic era for an animated title, the musical fantasy film's opening tally is still considerably lower than other Disney tentpoles released for Thanksgiving before the pandemic. (US-Box office)
